Sulekha Kishore

Hi! I'm Sulekha (pronounced su-lake-ah) Kishore, a PhD student at MIT. I'm advised by Prof. Michiel Bakker and affiliated with the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) and the Laboratory for Information & Decision Systems (LIDS).

I completed my undergraduate degree at Caltech, where I studied Computer Science and Political Science. At Caltech I was fortunate to work with Prof. Mike Alvarez, Prof. Adam Wierman, and Prof. Soon-Jo Chung, on work spanning improved methods for maintaining election systems to vision models for low-earth-orbit satellites.

Outside the lab

Outside the lab, I play ultimate frisbee with the MIT women's ultimate frisbee team (sMITe) and club ultimate in Boston. While I used to think below 70 constituted a cold day, Boston has taught me a lot!

In undergrad, I captained Caltech's ultimate frisbee team (go Aftermath!), and loved surfing and hiking. I was involved with the Caltech Y, especially through the Student Activism Speaker Series (SASS), and I organized the Southern California Science Olympiad State Tournament with the Caltech Science Olympiad Planning team.
